Hi, I’m Blair
Coach, Leader, Clinician, Mother, and more.
I have struggled through the messy journey of life, now shown up as my best self all of the time, changed careers mid-life, and have gotten lost along the way a few times.
I can help you do it better.
Life is full of constant, messy decisions. I have navigated my fair share.
I faced the choice of following the advice of others to become a physician or following my drive to spend more time with patients as a physical therapist.
I wrestled with the decision to stay in a marriage because that is “what I am supposed to do” or to honor my deep knowing that staying in that relationship would not be healthy for anyone.
I struggled with the intimidating decision to change my career mid-life with no guarantees or to finish out a career in healthcare until retirement. Spoiler alert, I chose the scariest but most fulfilling option.
Life is also full of constant, messy polarities.
Polarities are “both/and” situations where balance is not an actual goal. I have and continue to navigate many of these too.
Working with very challenging (aka “difficult”) people and learning to hold them with respect and compassion.
Working full-time and raising a family (while being a single mom for a significant part of it).
Continuing my education through two additional degrees and raising a family and working full-time.
Learning to be a great listener who is fully present and becoming a better self-advocate with a voice.
Growing as a conscious leader and being an exceptional team member at the same time.
Listening to the ideas and feedback of others and learning when to listen to my inner knowing.
Growing through my own journey of healing, awareness, and development and learning to let go of the self-protections of the ego and fear.
Learning to experience a much broader array of emotions and feelings and recognizing that they are all impermanent unless I try to hold onto them (aka making my own suffering).
I have come a long way on my journey.
I am not special and the messiness of my journey is not special to me either!
We all have blind-spots, habits, and ways we are programmed to react or respond to the opportunities and challenges that come up in our lives. And they are much harder to recognize when we try to do it alone.
When I became aware of how I was out of alignment in the way I was and the was I wanted to be, then I realized that I needed an objective person to help me grow.
But who? I already had a therapist helping me recognize some patterns and the programming. So who could help me start to build new ways of being and become my better self going forward?
Enter my first coach! We chatted in a call to explore fit and I took the plunge to commit - and have never looked back.
Coaching has helped me grow and develop in so many ways. I would not be where I am today without having a developmental coach as a regular part of my team.
My mind, body, and heart are all working together to help me be my best self and to allow me to fully embody the purpose in my life. There has been NO downside for me in working with a coach!
Hiring my first coach was a pivotal moment in my life!
What does coaching offer?
And what should you expect from the experience?
I practice developmental coaching and as a coach I offer you my full presence to help you identify your commitments first and then develop the competencies needed to meet them, ownership of your ongoing learning/ development, and an experience of greater aliveness and joy!
Developmental coaching is not consulting (telling you what I think you should do) or mentoring (feedback & prescribing from the mentor's experience). It is about supporting you in being curious, becoming open to new possibilities, and acting on those new possibilities! It is about discovery!
Coaching with me offers you the opportunity to experience real and lasting change that arises from the inside.
Coaching with me is about cultivating perspective shifts.
I coach from a place of presence - meaning what is right here, now.
Somatic awareness is an important part of my coaching approach. We need to have awareness of what is happening for us in our bodies, below the “thinking” brain. This means getting in touch with what we are feeling, what emotions are present, and how our body reacts and stores them as information. Many things we experience have already elicited responses in our body before the thought reaches the conscious mind - such as a soft smile at the sight of a beautiful sunset or a tightened jaw at the mention of a challenging person’s name.
Development means practice.
Developmental coaching is about learning new competencies so it means practicing things between sessions. The commitment to coaching is far more than just committing to the time for each call or session - it is a commitment to do the practice it takes to get the results you want.
I work with each client to build an Individual Development Plan at the start of the engagement and then we build action plans for what you decide might be most impactful to practice between the sessions. We aren’t talking about huge amounts of time but rather, very targeted practices which when done consistently will help build capacity, competence, or even reveal an unseen belief or perspective.
If you’ve gotten this far then perhaps this might be the right path for you!
I invite you to book an exploratory call to learn more about each other, the process, and to see if working together is right for you! I will not hesitate to refer to other coaches if I think they will be a better fit for you - I have a large network of colleagues for whom I have great respect and many with whom I have worked with myself!

Life on the Farm
My blended family lives on a small, 10-acre farm with 2 horses, 2 dogs, and a lot of hay to be grown each year. Nature is key in my personal practice for mindfulness, spiritual practice, grounding, and I even find weeding very meditative!
I have far too many hobbies which don’t get the time or dedicated practice they all need! In the past few years I have been exploring creativity through various artistic mediums and am even learning to let go of “busyness” to enjoy play with my family. Like many others, I am also part of the “sandwich” generation and enjoy spending time with and taking care of my elderly father who is now in his mid-90s.
Medical Career
I have an extensive background of over 30 years as both a clinician (Doctorate in Physical Therapy) and leader which gives me a unique and solid understanding of the challenges leaders face everyday. I have worked extensively within the worlds of the clinician, the operations leader, the C-Suite executive, the physician practice setting, and even the IT world.
After several recent years of focus in areas of physician governance structures, medical director leadership development & coaching, and conscious leadership training, I was ready for a new challenge. Liminalities ™ was founded when I made the decision to leave institutional healthcare and start helping others navigate transformation and change. Liminalities ™ is named for “liminal spaces" which are those spaces in the middle of change or that we encounter when we need to transform.
With Liminalities ™, I bring together my formal training in coaching with conscious (mindful) leadership principles, neuroscience of mindfulness, research and practices of adult learning & development, and my own life experiences to help individuals and companies.
The future starts now!
