W.I.T.
It’s time to sharpen your
Women In Transformation
A new kind of book club is coming to Shepherdstown.
W.I.T. stands for Women In Transformation and it is a newly forming group for women who are in the midst of the chaos of midlife! This is your chance to be part of a small community of women in the Shepherdstown, WV area. W.I.T. is a consciously curated and professionally facilitated group that aims to help women support each other with intention and connection.
W.I.T. is a paid membership with limited availability.
One journey - two integral paths
To support our deep dive into the many complexities of what it means to be a woman in the second-half of life journey we will be integrating two key pathways:
We will take our time exploring impactful books relevant to the woman’s journey.
We will create a small, intentional community to learn from & support each other!
W.I.T is a women’s cohort that will meet twice a month at Four Seasons Books in Shepherdstown.
2nd Thursday of the month - W.I.T. Community Gathering
Our first gathering of the month will focus on our community! This will be a spin on the old style “salon” type discussion format with a relevant agenda that also includes a safe space to check-in with each other and share. During these meetings we might also host a local person or business of interest for a “fireside chat” facilitated discussion on an intentional topic.
Potential topics we will explore include the heroine’s journey, the menopause journey, womanhood later in life, and so much more.
4th Thursday of the month - W.I.T. Book Discussion
Here we will take deep dives into our chosen book. Life is busy and reading time is sometimes scarce so instead of a different book every month, we will be focusing on one book per quarter. This will allow everyone more time to read the book in it’s entirety and our group more time to actually discuss and explore key perspectives and insights .
How to obtain your book - our co-host, Four Seasons Books can assist you in purchasing hard copies and audio copies!
Beginning May 2024
W.I.T. is a “cohort” approach to facilitate the close-knit community aspect and is limited to 12 participants. Membership is low cost ($45/quarter) and this founding session will run May through July. Meetings will be the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month - with our inaugural meeting launching on May 9th! New members may join at the beginning of a quarter if a space is available.
We will meet from 11:30 to 1pm at Four Seasons Books in Shepherdstown, WV. Bringing a lunch is highly recommended! We’ll have tables and chairs upstairs in the bookstore’s second floor for us to gather comfortably.
You can find Four Seasons Books at
114 W. German St. Shepherdstown, WV 25443
Meet your host
Blair Morris
When we say “professionally facilitated” - we mean it. Blair will serve as your fearless leader and moderator. She’s the creative inspiration and drive behind the whole operation!
As a professional coach she’ll lead our meetings with intentional topics of discussion, keep conversation flowing, organize guest speakers, and provide a warm, inclusive experience for all in attendance.
Starting off strong with
Hagitude
By award-winning author Sharon Blackie, Hagitude is an astute reimagining of the second half of life.
There is growing recognition that somewhere in the middle of our lives, many of us realize that the path we have taken is no longer serving a purpose that is fulfilling - or maybe was never fulfilling! Sharon Blackie, a psychologist, story-teller, and curator of myths of feminine lore, leads the reader on a journey of exploration of what it means to be a woman in mid-life, embrace our wisdom and coming “elderhood,” and challenges us to embody our sense of self and our authentic power as a woman.
How do you know if W.I.T. is for you?
Are you relatively local to Shepherdstown, WV? Are you able and willing to meet twice a month? Do you identify as a woman? If yes, then keep reading!
W.I.T. primarily caters to women in the second half of life who are seeking personal growth and change. We won’t put an age to it but consider that the topics of menopause and the intricacies of aging as a woman will often be discussed.
Change comes in many forms throughout our lives but if any of these examples resonate with you, than we encourage you to give W.I.T. a try!
Parental changes - Adjusting to life after the kids are grown and the house is empty is wild. How do I find “me” now that my life doesn’t revolve around others?
Career changes - I want to have purpose in my life and this job just isn’t it!
Body changes - These hot flashes are killing me and I feel like a stranger in my own skin! How do I reconnect with my body now that everything is changing?
Mindset changes - Why am I doing this? How do I get un-stuck from these patterns of behavior?
Community changes - I don’t feel connected to these people anymore. How do I go about finding a support system that really sees me?
W.I.T. is not exclusive, fancy, a debate, or stressful.
W.I.T. is meant to be a place of conversation, connection, and community. It’s a space to check-in, share, and practice listening. We seek to have honest and intellectual conversations that don’t happen within the average house and workday. We will be utilizing mindfulness practices that will encourage you to look deep within in order to connect with yourself and your community.
To protect that sanctity of space, there are community guidelines that all members must agree to upon registration. Come with an open heart and an open mind and you will find the same.
The non-refundable $45/qtr membership fee covers enrollment for a 3-month session, admittance to all 6 meetings, and access to the private W.I.T. FB group.
There are only 12 spots available! Enrollment closes once the session begins and will only open at the start of a quarter if space is available. So if you think W.I.T. is for you, don’t wait to enroll!
